Research Areas, Expertise or Topics: Practical training by assisting the Deep Sea Group with their research. Reach out to the public. Inspire school pupils and colleges.

Q1. Why do you want to join the Polarstern Expedition?
I have a environmental engagement, especially global warming. I think it was a great possibility to see and learn how the Scientist research environmental changes. I want also to be an ambassador of my school, and inspire pupils and colleges in environmental topics. I look also forward to se the nice nature in this area.

Q2. What do you hope to accomplish at the end of the Expedition?
Reach out to the public and informing them of deep sea science and my practical experiences during and after the Expedition by writing Expedition Logs and making these available via the Internet, media, etc.

Q3. How do you intend to raise awareness about the deep-sea research to your fellow pupils at school and others after the Expedition?
Inspire the school pupils and teachers with the insights, knowledge and skills acquired during the Expedition. Specifically, I may include in my science/math classes or club activities, some mention of the state-of–the-art of deep sea science and knowledge. Additionally, I hope to continue my involvement in the future with the EU-HERMES research group, and the HERMES@School projects which involve school pupils from all over EU.
