Junior Scientists' Itinerary

Brief Itinerary for Leg 'A' to the coldwater corals site:

28 May 2007:
The Norwegian school pupils will arrive in Bremen and be given a tour of OceanLab belonging to Jacobs University Bremen, and be briefed by our HERMES scientists.

29 May 2007:
The school pupils from Norway and Germany (together with scientists) will board the RV Polarstern from Bremerhaven for the trip to the coldwater coral sites off Lofoten (72° N, 14° E) , Norway .

Between embarkation and disembarkation, the school pupils' activities onboard will be coordinated by HERMES WP10 for Outreach and Education - Dr. N. Hanelt and Prof. L. Thomsen.

22 June 2007 :
The Polarstern will berth in Tromsø and the school pupils and scientists doing only Leg a) will disembark here.
(The Norwegian pupils will return to their homes in Tromsø and the German school pupils together with the HERMES scientists will fly back to Bremen .)
