Workshops

As exploration and exploitation of ocean resources moves to deeper water, science and industry need to combine their efforts to increase understanding of ocean margin ecosystems and ensure sustainable management of their resources. This new knowledge needs to be made available to researchers, educators, teachers, policy makers, environmental agencies and industries.
 

We plan to hold training workshops and take full advantage of HERMES project expertise and experts, designed to enhance understanding of ocean margin ecosystems especially ocean margin habitats and the interaction between the geosphere and biosphere. The goal of these workshops is to create an environment and mix of participants that will inspire a diversity of discussion and cross-fertilization of ideas, and to better recruit a new generation of science and engineering students for the European market.

Some of these workshops will be held on land, some will be held on board research ships ~ in conjunction with Training Through Research (TTR) cruises, etc.
