Welcome to HERMES Outreach section for school pupils and teachers!

As human exploration and use of ocean resources move to deeper waters, we must increase our understanding of these deeper areas of the oceans to ensure these resources are used wisely. HERMES is a project involving many researchers from many different universities, businesses and organizations within the European Union. The HERMES project costs millions of Euros, provided by the EU. The research takes place in certain deep areas of the oceans around the EU. The new knowledge about the deeper areas of the oceans must be made available to as many people as possible, from all layers of society.
